On November 8, 2024, TSS attended Markham Mayor's Annual Business Address and Luncheon at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Conference Centre.
The luncheon began with a cocktail mixer, which was a great time to catch up with fellow industry colleagues from Markham.
Mayor Frank Scarpitti celebrated Markham’s booming tech sector, highlighting major achievements and growth among the city’s top tech companies. Known as Canada’s "High-Tech Capital," Markham continues to attract global innovators, driving advancements, sustainable projects, and partnerships that strengthen its reputation as a dynamic hub for technology and business success.
The Q&A session with Avinash Persaud of VentureLab was very informative and a great illustration of the amazing work happening there.
We also celebrated the opening of the York University campus in Markham with a short Q&A session with the President of York University, Rhonda Lenton.
